Upcoming Workshops
For Students:
Girl Power Life Coaching- High School Edition
This is a more mature version of our Girl Power Middle School workshops. Girls ages 16-18 will learn how to balance themselves and their lives while seeking true happiness. They will also develop stress reduction strategies and discover their best selves. If you have a daughter you think would be interested earlier than that, please email us, and if we have enough interest we will start it in the fall!
For Parents:
Understanding “The Secret” and the Law of Attraction
Like many of you, I read The Secret a few years ago and had questions about the Law of Attraction and how it actually works. Over the past 5 years I have read book upon book explaining in more detail how our thoughts become things and how important positive thinking is in creating the life we truly want. The information is everywhere- in spiritual books, science research, psychology, and even books written by former politicians. I would love to share this information with those of you who are seeking more understanding, so please email ktame@theepiphanyplace.com if you are interested!
Positive Discipline Book Club
It’s so helpful to be able to brainstorm parenting ideas with other like-minded parents! We promise to offer nonjudgmental support in a fun, positive environment. Family discipline is currently going through a huge transition- many parents don’t want to discipline how their parents did, but they see the problems that occur when children rule the household. If you are a parent who is frustrated with trying to figure out which discipline style works best for your family, this is the book club for you. Positive Discipline is not autocratic parenting (do what I want because I am the boss), but it is also not permissive parenting (do what you want because you are the boss), it’s a style that is in between. “Democratic Parenting,” as it’s called, is a way of disciplining that keeps the parents in charge of the household but also respects the children’s ideas, thoughts, and opinions. It is a truly remarkable way to raise a family. This series of classes is taught as a book club using the book Honey, I Wrecked the Kids by Alyson Shafer. For more information about the author visit www.alyson.ca, and for more about positive discipline visit www.positivediscipline.com.
New Mom Coaching Class
Being a new mom can be a challenging time. Especially when it’s your first! We understand and want to help you find more peace and balance in your lives. We will discuss family issues, how to find space in your day to nurture yourself, and how to set goals for a prosperous future. You would be free to bring your little ones (ages 4 and under) to play and draw while we create and discuss! If this is something you would be interested in, please let us know and we can get it on the calendar.
If you have any other ideas or suggestions for classes and workshops, we are here for you! Let us know what topics you feel you or your children need, and we will find a way to offer support.
